The Department of Health and Human Services manages a website dedicated to U.S. Government pandemic information on PandemicFlu.gov.

Boston MBTA Emergency Communications Upgrade

Currently, emergency radio communications withiin Boston's subways, tunnels, and underground stations and the surface can only be done via relays through a number of emergency agencies. Should a terrorism or disaster emergency occur, communication may break down.

In a significant move toward disaster preparedness, Boston's Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority communication system will be upgraded and emergency communications streamlined.

Department of Homeland Security Emergency Preparedness Awards

Emergency first responders may be eligible to receive a part of $33.7 million from the Federal Emergency Management Agency or FEMA. The 2007 Commercial Equipment Direct Assistance Program has emergency equipment and training awards for fire, law enforcement, and other first responders.
